How it works
A private invitation, not another dating app
Make a Date is a small website for one job: turning “want to go out?” into a beautiful, specific invitation. It is not a matchmaker, it does not browse other people for you, and it does not host a public feed of profiles. You already have someone in mind. We host the card, the choices, and the reply.
Step 1
You set the scene
Enter first names, pick an occasion (first date, anniversary, or your own words), then choose one to six date ideas from the Vibe Shop. You can also create a custom idea. Next, propose up to four exact times in the next two weeks. Times snap to 15-minute steps so you are not negotiating “sometime Friday.”
Step 2
You get two links, not an account
There is no signup. After you review the invite, Make a Date gives you two URLs. The invite link is for them — do not open it yourself if you want to stay surprised. The management link is only for you: it shows whether they are still deciding, said yes, passed, or suggested one change.
Step 3
You send it the way you already talk
Copy the invite link into whatever you already use — a dating-app chat, iMessage, WhatsApp, or a note. Make a Date does not send texts, emails, or WhatsApp messages for you, and it does not ask for phone numbers in the invite flow.
Step 4
They answer once, clearly
When they open the link they see the occasion, your name, the plans, and the times. They can accept, decline, or send one counter (a different vibe and/or time). You then accept or decline that counter. That is the whole loop — no endless back-and-forth inside the product.
What they see
The receiver journey is designed to feel like opening a gift, not filling a form. An entrance animation leads into the occasion, then the plans and times. If they say yes, a short celebration plays. If they pass, the copy stays kind and there is no public shame board. Status updates live on your management link only — we do not email or text either of you.
Ads, premium, and privacy
Free invitations may show Google ads. A one-time $2 USD upgrade (the Engagement Signal) removes those ads from that invite and adds a gold shimmer on their name, without changing the link.
