these terms of service are the agreement between you and the operator of make a date (makeadate.live) for use of the website, invitation pages, and related features. the service is run by an individual operator and is not a registered company. questions go through the contact form or the email listed in the privacy policy. by visiting the site, creating or opening an invitation, submitting a message, or paying for a premium upgrade, you accept these terms and that privacy policy. if you do not agree, do not use the service. we may change these terms by updating this page. continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.

make a date is a web tool for creating a private, shareable date invitation. a sender can propose names, an occasion, activity options, and exact times; the receiver opens a unique link and can accept, decline, or suggest one change. there are no user accounts in the ordinary sense, and the invite flow does not collect phone numbers or email addresses. the product is not a dating app, matchmaking service, escort service, background-check service, or booking agent for venues. we do not introduce people, we do not supervise any meeting, and we do not guarantee that anyone will reply, attend, or behave well. you are solely responsible for how you share a link and for anything that happens in person. the service is for people who are at least 18 years old. if we believe you are under 18, we may delete related data and refuse access.

when you create an invitation we generate a public invite link and a separate management link. anyone with the invite link can view that invitation; anyone with the management link can see status and, if they pay, upgrade that invitation. you must keep the management link private. invitation records are kept for fourteen days after creation and are then deleted from our systems, except where a payment processor or the law requires a longer payment record. we may also delete, rate-limit, or refuse content earlier if it is abusive, illegal, spam, or harmful to the service. you are responsible for the names, plans, custom text, and other material you submit. you grant us a limited right to host, display, and delete that material for the purpose of running the invitation. you must not use the service for harassment, fraud, impersonation, sexual content involving minors, threats, or any unlawful purpose, and you must not attempt to break, scrape, or overload the site. fuller rules live in the content guidelines. custom ideas marked for the community may be reviewed and published or rejected. we may remove user content without notice.

the optional premium upgrade is a one-time digital purchase priced at two united states dollars (usd $2), described on the site as an engagement signal. payment is taken by a third-party processor — currently lemon squeezy, and stripe if that processor is enabled — on their hosted checkout pages. we do not collect or store full payment card numbers on our servers; card data is handled by the processor under that processor’s terms, privacy policy, and security standards (including pci-dss as applicable to that processor). a successful payment is fulfilled by switching the related invitation to premium: google ads are omitted from that invitation view and the receiver’s name is shown with a gold shimmer, on the same invite url. there is no physical shipment, no subscription, and no downloadable file. checkout on lemon squeezy is also subject to lemon squeezy’s terms, including lemon squeezy acting as merchant of record for that sale. checkout on stripe is also subject to stripe’s terms. prices are shown in usd.

refunds and fulfillment. because premium is a digital feature delivered as soon as payment is confirmed, all sales are final once the upgrade has been applied to the invitation, except where the processor or applicable law requires a refund. if you were charged and premium did not apply within a reasonable time, use the contact form or the email in the privacy policy with enough detail to identify the invitation (for example the management link or checkout confirmation) and we will either complete fulfillment or request a refund through the processor. lemon squeezy, as merchant of record, may also issue refunds under its own policies. we do not offer returns of a digital feature, we do not ship goods, and there is no cancellation of a completed one-time upgrade other than a refund as described here. chargebacks should be a last resort after contacting us; unpaid or reversed payments may cause premium to be removed.

free invitations may display advertising, including google ads. premium is the paid way to remove those ads from a specific invitation. ads are supplied by third parties and we do not control every advert that appears. the service is provided as is, without warranties of uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or that a date will take place. to the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator’s total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid to us for the relevant invitation in the thirty days before the claim, or zero if you paid nothing. we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, including missed dates, emotional distress, or third-party conduct. some places do not allow certain limitations; in those places the limitation applies only as far as the law allows. if a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest remains in effect. these terms are the whole agreement for the service, alongside the processor terms that apply to a paid checkout. questions about these terms can be sent through the contact form.
